2012 Scholarship Winners


Congratulations to the 2012 Texas Young Farmer Scholarship Winners!


Brady Johnson, son of Jerry and Chifawn Johnson of Fairfield, Texas.  Brady plans on attending Texas A & M and get a degree in Animal Science.  Brady is graduating 6th in a class of 99.  He has exhibited Steers at Houston and the County Show.  He has exhibited a breed champion steer at Houston and the Grand and Reserve at the Freestone County Fair.  Brady has participated in Livestock Judging, FFA Quiz, Radio, Farm Business Management and several other contest on the Area and State level.  Upon graduation from A & M he plans to have is own cattle business.

Clay Robinson is the son of Tammi Carraway Robinson and attends Dayton High School where he is graduating 4th in a class of 299.  He plans on attending Lamar University with a career plan of designing, developing and manufacturing of Agricultural Equipment.  He has served as President of his local Chapter and participated in Chapter Conducting, Wildlife and Forestry Contest.  Clay share crops a pecan orchard and hay production.  He has a Santa Gertrudis Cattle Operation of 38 head.  Clay has been active in applying for proficiency awards in pecan and forage production. 

Hailey Noelle Robinson  the daughter of Susan Prime and attending Liberty Hill High School  she is graduating 26 of 180.  She plans to attend Tarleton State University and major in Swine Production.  Hailey and her Mother have been very active in the Liberty Hill Young Farmer Chapter in helping the program grow to more than 35 members.  Her mom is the Treasure for the local chapter.  Hailey has shown pigs each year of agriculture and has participated in Livestock Judging, Radio Broadcast, Dairy Judging, Prepared public speaking, and job interview.  She also has received the Lone Star Farmer Degree.

Connor David Jackson the son of David and Jodi Jackson attending Bosqueville High School and graduating 1 of 42.  Connor plans on attending Abilene Christian College and major in Animal Industry and Business.  Conner and his parents are very active in the Bosqueville Young Farmers as his Mother serves as the Secretary/Treasurer.  His SAEP includes show lambs, steers, heifers and a registered Brangus herd developed from his show heifers.  He has served as President of his local chapter and the Waco District; participated in prepared public speaking, chapter conducting, and Jr. and Sr. Quiz team.  His 18’ lowboy trailer received a Blue Ribbon and he has also received his Lone Star Farmer Degree.

Corbin Mackenzie Martin the daughter of Rick and Ronda Martin attending Lampasas High School where she is graduating 11 of 219 students.  She and her parents have been very active in the Lampasas Young Farmer Chapter assisting with all of the fund raising activities of the chapter.  Corbin’s SAEP consisted of raising and showing many market animals, primarily swine but has shown lambs and rabbits.  Her activities have included serving her chapter as President, San Saba District Reporter and Secretary.  She has participated in Prepared Public Speaking, Livestock Judging, Chapter Conducting, FFA Quiz and other contest.  C orbin plans on attending Texas A & M and major in Biomedical Science.
